Tempus fugit

My daughter was just three and something when she was put in Bharathanatyam class.

While going to the dance class conducted in a nearby school and while walking back we used to have a two language conversation -she in Marathi (though her mother tongue is Tamil and father tongue Malayalam) and I in English.

Every time she could not follow something she stopped and looked up quizzically and I had to explain…..

Much later when I was on transfer she used to insist that I taught her one new word everyday.

And she did her P G in English and is now teaching kids many new words everyday.

Strange….I used to remind her TEMPUS FUGIT (time flies).

Now, every morning I sit in front of my Grandfather Clock and it has the legend “Tempus fugit”.

The only difference is, now it perhaps means “time is up……..”
